House of Jenaro Leitón
Today this two-story house, which is located on the south side of the Carmen church, has an archaic and mysterious flavor. On the second floor there are five balconies with cast iron railings. The cornice between the first and second floors was painted with the colors of the national flag; a fact that gave it a special uniqueness, cheerful and striking at the same time. This house was ordered to be built shortly after 1871 by the Heredian priest Father Esteban Chaverri Ruiz. Many people have knocked on the door of this house today, wanting to take a look inside it, but nobody opens it. Here we could repeat the phrase of a modern Colombian novelist: "It does not open, so as not to allow all the history that has accumulated in it to jump out and spill".
