The City Council and Barracks
It is probable that the present drawing corresponds to the least known place of the current inhabitants of Heredia. The old Cabildo building today occupies the space of the amphitheater annexed to the fort, which stands on the north side of Central Park. The fort could be the only clue that allows you to orient yourself to locate yourself in the right place. The first document that we know about Heredia in the year 1752 in which it speaks of the existence of a town hall building. Built of adobe and tile, but we do not know more details about it, not even when it was built. In this building the first council or municipality that existed in Heredia met, which lasted until September 11, 1814.
